Bukchon Hanok Village

Take a time machine to go back to the Joseon Dynasty period, Joseon’s fisrt king decided Seoul for Joseon’s capital and made Gyeongbok Palace. And Bukchon was formed that royal family and nobles gathered around. so Bukchon is village that common people dare to see.

Bukchon preserve alley that seems a bit comlicated, you can feel Joseon Dynasty period’s atmosphere in here. Unlike other Hanok Village, it is not the dead space. It is living space because the actual residents living in here. So Bukchon Hanok Village have a greater meaning than any other hanok village.

Joseon Dynasty period’s most rich village Bukchon is rich village still now.

Food

     - Tofu soup

When you come down from Bukchon Hanok Village, you can see ‘Jae-dong Tofu’ restaurant that sell soup that made with Sundubu(Tofu).

There are two types of Tofu soup. One is not spicy and white color, the other is little spicy and red color. The price is 7500won and side dish refill is available.

Tofu is made by bean, so vegetarians can eat Tofu soup, and I recommend white one.

Museum

     - Bier puppet

You can see many museums that altered Hanok into museum in Bukchon. Most of the Hanoks are ‘HOUSE’ that peoples live in. But museums are open space, You can see interior of Hanok. That is big advantage.

Among museum, I recommend Beir puppet museum. This is beautifully decorated inside so It is good for photography, and it is very unique. You can see Beir puppet and description that was Korean tradition in Beir puppet museum,
