Gyeongbok Palace
Gyeongbok Palace is the first palace of the Joseon Dynasty period, and it was built in 1395. Under Bukak mountain settle the site, build royal family’s space that for living, and king and his subject’s space that for work.
Unfortunately, all of the Gyeongbok Palace burned down because of Imjin War and 270 years later, when Emperor Gojong rebuilt it. But it suffered by Japan again.
Since 1990, re-build a palace to go back to the original shape. Look out in Gyongbok Palace, you can feel interesting that Joseon and now are coexist.

- Gatekeeper Alternating
Joseon Dynasty Palace had a troops that called ‘Sumungun’. They do work that are open and close the palace doors, guard, patrol. They are working shift.
And now that is gatekeeper alternating. I think that gatekeeper alternating was not ambitious in Joseon Dynasty period.
